Lock head is an important part of the navigation lock. So the accuracy of the lock head's structure plays a decisive role in ensuring the rationality of the navigation lock's design. This paper focuses on calculating the structural internal force and analyzing the calculations'effects on the safety and stability of the lock head by the way of analysis and 3D nonlinear finite element method. The exact steps are as below:(1) Combining the project of Xinzheng navigation lock in Jialing River, build up a three-dimensional finite element model and carry on the nonlinear numerical calculations by using large finite software ABAQUS and the calculating methods of the lock head structure at home and abroad; analyze the stress and strain distribution characteristics of the lock head in different working conditions; compare the calculating results of the lock head's outside pier by analysis method and nonlinear finite element method, then check the accuracy of the model building and calculating results.(2) According to the single factor analysis method, the calculation results and the major factors which affect the forces on the lock head structure, the following results could be found: if only change the water head of inside and outside of lock head, the displacement of the side piers will be bigger than the bottom floor's; with the changing of the water head, the influence on the displacement of the side piers in the same direction of the flow will be larger than the direction of the Vertical flow; When the water head reaches a certain value, the water pressure achieve to the maximum static friction force between lock head structure, then the lock head's floor and side pier's displacement rate started to get larger, the displacement variation curve shows a turning point. as the backfill rate decreases, the displacements of side piers and bottom slap both have a trend of the decreasing, but the change is very slight; there are strong contacts between the cohesive force of soil C and internal friction angle ? as well as the stress and displacement of the lock head side piers.(3)By utilizing the numerical analysis method to analyze soil strength parameters, combined with the FEM calculation data, find out the data-fit between the influencing factors and the side piers'stress and displacement. Though analyzing the relationship between the cohesive force of soil, the internal friction angle and the stress and displacement of the lock head side piers, the following formulas could be gotten: The cohesive force of soil C and the stress of the side piers: (?)The cohesive force of soil C and the displacement of the side piers: (?)f The internal friction angleφand the stress of the side piers: (?)The internal friction angleφand the displacement of the side piers: (?)and the stress of the side piers: (?)and the displacement of the side piers: (?)(4) According to the single factor analysis result, the contact between the cohesive force and the displacement of the side pier is stronger than the one between the cohesive force and the side piers'stress, while the contact between the internal friction angleφand the side piers'stress is stronger than the one between the internal friction angleφand the displacement of the side piers; the contact between the internal friction angleφand the displacement of the side pier is stronger than the cohesive force C and the stress displacement of side pier; if the cohesive force C and the internal friction angleφwork together, the contact with the displacement of the side pier is much stronger.(5) The transition from qualitative analysis to quantitative analysis could be realized better by fitting analysis and using the mathematical expression to quantitatively express the relation between soil strength parameters cohesive force C, internal friction angleφand the stress displacement of the side piers, which provides new thoughts to analyze the influence of multivariate interaction on the lock head structure.
