Widely applied in soft soil foundation and complex foundation, the castle shiplock (also called U-frame shiplock) has many advantages:the better antiseepage capability, the lower requirement for foundation bearing capacity due to the even distribution of the soil pressure, etc. The lock head is a main part of the ship lock, whose veracity of structure calculation will decide the rationality of design of ship lock. And now the main problem is that simplified space problem to plane problems in the lock design. In order to reflect the mechanical characteristics of the three-dimensional structure of the lock, basing on the second-line ship lock project of Yingshang, using analytical method and three dimensional nonlinear method, the writer calculate and analysis the stress and deformation characteristics of the lock head by using finite element software ANSYS. And using single factor analysis method to investigate the backfill soil parameters and backfill soil surface load effects on structural internal force. Get the following conclusion:(1) Based on the result of analytical method were compared with the result of finite element method, the results of both methods are close. The results of calculation and contrast analysis illustrates the three dimensional numerical model can reflect the real tile complex load and conditions of use.(2) Throughing the analysis of the structure stress and displacement under different working condition can get water pressure on the gate is the main reason to cause displacement of the lock head down the river structure; gatefloor surface under three conditions are produced different degree of tensile stress, and in the contact area of pier and gatefloor as well as in the contact area of pier and gate appear different degree of stress concentration; Under three conditions, the deformation and stress is greater than the left side to the right pier pier because of the role of backfill pressure, lock head structure mainly affected by stress in the vertical direction.(3) Through analyzing the influencing factors of structure, the following results could be found:the higher backfill strength, the smaller the structure itself stresses, contact stress, subsidence displacement, horizontal displacement and friction slip, the greater the contrast, but the influencement of backfill internal friction angle change for the structure stress and displacement is more distinct than cohesion; as uniformly of backfill affects the structure stress and displacement a lot, it is a key factor.
