In this paper, we use the APDL language of ANSYS to build parameters finite elementmodel of Taper-lock Connection in Wind Turbine Spindle. Inputting various parameters suchas outer ring outside diameter of taper-lock, outer ring the length of taper-lock, outer ringcontact surface of taper-lock, outer ring the amount of interference of taper-lock and so on,than the parametric model of Taper-lock Connection is got. Using finite element analysissoftware ANSYS to analyze the contact analysis of Taper-lock Connection, and the obtainedresults were compared with the results of a thick-walled cylinder theory, showing that theresults obtained using the finite element method is more accurate.Using ANSYS to do optimization design of the size of Taper-lock, the minimum volumeand the corresponding size of the Taper-lock is got. Then, the minimum and maximuminterference amount of Taper-lock of this size is got by using ANSYS optimization design. The results showed that optimization effect is obvious and the volume of Taper-lock isreduced by19%. Doing reliability analysis under multiple failure modes of optimizedTaper-lock Connection, using ANSYS probability finite element module based onoptimization design. In the condition of95%confidence level, probability of failure is6.6%,shows that the reliability of optimized Taper-lock Connection is93.4%, the feasibility of thereliability of optimized the structure and Optimization design is verified. Finally, use theAPDL language of ANSYS to develop ANSYS interface for the parametric modeling ofTaper-lock Connection and contact analysis, by inputting parameters in the dialog box to docontact analysis. The developed of this special analysis program for the modeling ofTaper-lock Connection and contact analysis provides an intuitive and straightforward interface, thus improving the efficiency of the design and analysis.
