To solve the problems of aeroengine performance test such as low efficiency, poor accuracy, unintelligent and so on, a portable performance test instrument of aeroengine which is fit for bad environment of airfield has been developed successfully.The test instrument's development requirements and overall design plan are introduced firstly. The system's hardware design including assemble structure, signal conditioning, core components buiding, components selection and software design including application of extended memory, programming in graphics mode, modular design are discussed in detail. And the ways to conquer difficult problems occured in developing process are expressed at last in this paper.The technologies such as automatic test, artificial intelligence, fuzzy recognition, digital signal processing and object-oriented programming are adopted in developing the test instrument. Based on relevant technical information and practical test requirements, the system meets all the requirements of aeroengine test including start performance, acceleration and deceleration performance, idle state performance, maximum state performance, afterburning regime performance and so on by collecting and analyzing the analog, frequency and switch signals. This instrument constructs an integrated common platform of multi-type aeroengines performance automatic test for it's online and offline performance test feature. It has many advantages such as flexible operation, high precision, excellent intelligence and reliability and it can provide a reliable reference for checking and adjusting engine parameters and trouble shooting.It is proved by applications that the human consumption and the life loss of aeroengine can reduce to a large extent by using this instrument. It has significant advantages in increasing aeroengine maintenance efficiency and it's application can bring out significant military and economic benefits.
