Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS), consists of some state-of-the-art particle physics detectors, is the only approved physics experiment on the International Space Station, which takes the advantage of the unique space environment. The performances of these detectors are sensitive to the different thermal environment, especially to the harsh thermal environment such as the outer space thermal environment. To guarantee these detectors to normally operate in the outer space, the thermal control system is essential and indispensable constitute of AMS. As the only approach to validate the reliability of AMS thermal control system, the thermal vacuum and thermal balance test specified by NASA must be carried out before AMS launched. In this dissertation, the thermal vacuum and thermal balance test performed for AMS is designed, analyzed and optimized, and the performance of AMS thermal control system in simulated space environment is evaluated, and the thermal behaviors of AMS in thermal-vacuum environment are entirely investigated.First, this dissertation summarizes the scientific background and the goal of the AMS experiment, as well as the difference between the environment test for space craft and other facility. The thermal vacuum and thermal balance test is the most important one before space craft's launch, which is crucial to valid the thermal control system; the dissertation also gives an introduction of the most advanced facility—Large Space Simulator, of which we can take the advantage as a reference.Second, analyzed the structure of the radiators of AMS, study the optima design and the temperature's distribution of AMS's radiators, and analyzed the model of AMS.Last, took part in the thermal vacuum and thermal balance test, tested the AMS thermostats'response to the temperature, tested the heaters'function and the response of the crates to the temperature's difference, and especially analyzed the temperature distribution of AMS's radiators in the worst hot and cold case. The results valid the thermal control system of AMS.
