| With the increasingly evident trend of the development along Taihu Lake in Suzhou City, the lakeside area has been more determined as a strategic status. With the rapid economic development, the multiple driving force, which includes transformation and upgrading of the development zones,Suzhou city suburbanization and the local of urbanization, makes the space form of Taihu lakeside area changes greatly. The lakeside area has been integrated with the spatial characteristics of Urban and rural areas. Research on the space of Taihu Lake area will provide meaningful guidance for the area.The paper analyzes and summarizes the space development of Suzhou Taihu lakeside area. It can be divided into four stages based on characteristics of spatial organization and key effect mechanism. The four stages are : agricultural period,rural industry period,development zone period,coordinated development period. The space development was effected by many factors such as industry development,planning concepts,infrastructure construction,policy guidance. Suzhou Taihu lakeside area has been a highly coordinated area which was a scattered rural area. It has also been promoted as an important part of Suzhou central district under the metropolitan development.Based on the analysis above, the paper discovers many problems through the sapce development of Suzhou Taihu lakeside area: industry cluster is not high; development is uneven; space is fragmented; distribution and Land structure are unreasonable; the efficiency of land use is low; the ecological environment is seriously damaged; functional groups are not closely linked; etc.The paper also analyzes the future factors that will greatly influence the development of Suzhou Taihu lakeside area, such as Yangtze River Delta integration,the development of leisure economy,Suzhou distribution of productive forces,disposition of master planning,major transport infrastructure,the function and effect of Taihui lake, etc. It is concluded that Suzhou Taihu lakeside area will be strategic area for the development of leisure economy and new city districts construction.At last , the paper studies the spatial restructuring and organization of Suzhou Taihu lakeside area by integration. It provides four targeted integration strategies: optimizing the industry allocation; constructing ecological pattern; integrating functional groups; coordinating the relationship between the city and Taihu lake. In the end, in order to optimize the spatial organization of Suzhou Taihu lakeside area,the studies provides a comprehensive project of"one district,four groups,six centers,two axis,one belt and the penetration of Taihu lake landscape into Suzhou City". |
