In the event of high-speed running trains'fire, because of its closed internal space, personnel-intensive, in addition, the trains have yet to deploy effective security system, fire burns fast as soon as smoke quickly spread inside the train and soon fill the compartment, easily lead to car crash tragic, causing adverse effects in the community. To this end, the world attaches great importance to the work of high-speed train fire. Japan and France, as the representative of the developed countries, have set up their own fire safety research institute. They have done a lot of fruitful work on material properties and selection of fire prevention, fire resistance of body structure and physical test pilot, supporting the proposed technical requirements and industry standards in the corresponding area of research. Compared with foreign countries, high-speed railway in China started late and research is lagging behind, without research institutions specifically for high-speed train fire, carrying out high-speed train fire experiment research and formulating fire safety technical standards are important for the whole country's high-speed train fire prevention work. This paper is based the CRH1 of EMU in Chengdu-Chongqing line as study object. Search through field research and related literature to determine the cause of the high-speed train fire, characteristics and fire load etc, by the use basic theory of computational fluid dynamics and combustion fire and numerical simulation methods, we can study fire hazard characteristics of high-speed train, heat release rate, inside field of temperature, gas flow movement, the train fire protection systems and formulate emergency plan.Setting the fire load, fire development and spread of smoke as the starting point, considering two modes of trains fire from Static to running, we establish the fire combustion model in a limited space inside train and design 8 typical train fire scenarios to acquire the size of power train fire and the distribution of temperature, visibility, and smoke layer height inside train, under different conditions of fire source locations and ventilation openings.
