Frames in traditional designs consider the infilled wall as the non-structural component, they ignore their effect on the seismic performance of main structure and can't truthfully reflect its seismic performance of the integral structure. The main cause is that infilled walls can collaborate with frame beams and columns together to undertake the seismic action, which can affect the mechanical performance of the frame structure. Our current structure design code has only made the principled regulations and structural requirements to infilled walls. For this reason, this paper investigates influences of infilled walls on the mechanical performance of frame structure. The main study content and fruit is listed as follows:(1) Establish the calculation model on the multi-span and multi-storey reinforced-concrete infilled frame structure, and consider five different models:the pure frame structure, completely filled structure, the bottom weak layer structure, the central weak layer structure and the upper weak layer structure, according to different locations of infilled walls.(2) Use the sap2000 to make response spectrum analysis and time history analysis on each model, and study influences of infilled walls on the mechanical performance of frame structure by comparative analysis of the floor displacement, inter-story displacement and apex acceleration on different modes.(3) Make research on the effect of the infilled wall structure on the vibration period; study the effect of the number of infilled walls, the location of the vertical layout of the infilled wall, planar location of infilled walls and height of the structure on the vibration period by establishment of the structure calculation model and give the suggestion that how to take the value of cycle reduction coefficients.
