Infilled wall frame structure is one of the widely used structure forms, but infilled wall is always considered to be non-structural element in engineering design. In structure analysis, they always use the period reduction factor to reflect the infilled wall frame structure cycle effect on the stiffness of frame structure. However, the period reduction factor is only an approximate range in national regulation. It is not involved how to select more reasonable period reduction factor in order to make the frame structure seismic performance more practical and economic cost when the floor height and filling rate are not the same. Therefore, this paper is aimed to illustrate the influence of infilled wall on seismic performance of frame structure, and provide the advice in the choice of the period reduction factor for infilled wall frame structure designing through the following research.(1) Using finite element software ANSYS, calculated by the method of modal analysis frame structure under different height and filling rates of natural vibration period, in order to draw a frame structure period reduction factor, the natural vibration period and analyze the frame structure with the floor height, filling rate.(2) Through experiment study the moment of frame beam change when the open infilled wall or not, and compare the member load calculation method in the engineering design, the economic and suitable member load calculation method is proposed.(3) Frame structure model is established by using PKPM software, computing the natural vibration period of framework structure. And natural vibration periods of frame structure by PKPM are compared with the result from ANSYS calculation.(4) Finite models is built and the amount of frame structure reinforcement under different filler wall filling rate are analyzed by PKPM based on the calculation result of the finite element software ANSYS, and the standard about period reduction factor. Through experimental research and model analysis, the period reduction factor is suggested in engineering design:â‘ When the filling rate of the infilled wall is between 0% and 10%, 0.65~1 can be chosen as the period reduction factor;â‘¡When the filling rate of the infilled wall is between 10% and 30%, 0.58~0.65 can be chosen as the period reduction factor;â‘¢When the filling rate of the infilled wall is between 30% and 60%, 0.52~0.58 can be chosen as the period reduction factor;â‘£When the filling rate of the infilled wall is between 60% and 100%, 0.42~0.52 can be chosen as the period reduction factor.
