Virtual Reality (VR) is a kind of Virtual World generated by the computer ,which can provide encouragement of several senses for people. It is a high-level Human Computer Interaction (HCI) system. Virtual training simulation is the hotspot in military battle training fields. The Artillery operation training is developing towards VR training. Gun Operation Training Simulation is one of contents of the Artillery Element Fire Direction Virtual Reality Training System (AEFDVRTS). Some relative problems of Gun Operation Virtual Reality Training System (GOVRTS) were researched in this thesis.Firstly, the database hierarchy's level of the howitzer was abstracted on the basis of studying the VR technology, and the gun's 3D-model was constructed and the moving models of some parts of the gun were founded in this thesis. Secondly, the controlling of objects'posture in Virtual Environment (VE) was researched. The reference frame of the change of the objects'posture was constructed, which can simplify the process of the objects'posture changing. Thirdly, the research of using the Digital Glove to control the posture of Virtual Hand (VH) in VE was carried out. The VH's interaction with the other objects in VE was accomplished. The gestures of VH were defined which were used to accomplish the gun operation. Finally, the structure of GOVRTS was designed, and the programming method of each module of GOVRTS was researched. The software of GOVRTS was developed.
