The aeroplane's audio system is of great importance on the cival aviation's communication system through the whole flight. It is a necessary technology to ensure the flight safely and efficiently. Unfortunately nowadays we still do not have mature civil on-plane audio systems with intellectual property and the audio systems on the aircrafts that made domestic are almostly oversea products. With the rapid development of civil aircraft industry, the requirements of design our own audio system is imperative.Based on the above desirements, an aviation audio system simulator was designed in this paper, which can be used to study the key technologies and verify the design of on-plane digital audio system. This is of great value in the future design of the real audio system. We introduce this design from the following aspects:1: This paper first introduced the features, structures and performance of the typical on-plane audio system. Then the functions and requirements of the simulator design were presented.2: This paper then presented the details in the design of the audio system simulator. In detail, IPC with audio process and bus transferred card were used to construct the hardware of audio control pannel and audio management unit, graphic interfaces and coding were used to build the software so that friendly human-computer interaction can be obtained.3: This paper also presented some key technologies to solve the problems that were faced in the design. ASIO was used to resolve the too-large time delay; hybrid audio and data transfer was used to resolve the unmatch problem between the sample rate of audio card and the bus rate of ARINC 429; audio-mixing technology was used to gid rid of the problem of multi-audio playing on a single audio card and so on.4: In the final, experiment environments were built to verify the function of our simulator and to test the performance. The result shows that our design has good performance and can meet the requirements.
