As a kind of short-range and medium passenger traffic of rail transit system, the monorail vehicle holds the extremely important position in the urban mass transit system. . Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the vehicle body fatigue and structure strength, stiffness and mode.In this paper, it was the first time to make Chongqing No.3 light rail Straddle-Type Monorail vehicle body as the research object, a geometric model of vehicle was established. The structure character of Straddle-Type Monorail vehicle was introduced, using shell elements, a FEM model of the body was established by reasonable simplified. According to the usage condition, identified five calculation conditions (bending, starting, braking, torsion and lift), made corresponding load research and calculation.Based on the load and calculation analysis, according to the strength and stiffness analysis on five conditions, got the car body stress and stiffness situation, providing data support for further structural improvement. The modal analysis was made in order to get the dynamic information of the body. The fifty orders natural frequencies had been calculated and low-order vibration shapes of the body structure were analyzed. The natural frequency and mode shapes were determined.Meanwhile, this paper proposed a multi-body dynamics simulation combined with the finite element analysis fatigue life method, and calculated fatigue life of monorail vehicle body structure. Multi-body dynamics simulation result obtained by the dynamic load process of the body structure. Based on the method to calculate the stress and strain analysis, using the Palmigren-Miner theory, utilizing reference software got the structural fatigue damage. The fatigue life distribution of the body structural was attained, the weak position was found and structure improvements were attempted.
