The power flow calculation and transient stability calculation is an important part in the design and operation of marine power system, the results are associated with the development of design program and the arrangement of operation mode. With the improvement of marine power system in the large-scale and automation level, All Electric Ship Integrated System is increasingly being put on the research agenda. On the one hand, it promotes the rational use of marine power resources; on the other hand, it also makes the safety, reliablity and transient stability of marine power system more and more problems. Therefore, based on mature theory of power system for land use, this article does some exploratory research on the power flow calculation and transient analysis of marine power system with its own characteristics.Firstly, this article builts a mathematical model of power flow calculation according to the actual situation of marine power system, and explores node methods and slip methods in the applicability of marine power system, then programs the flow calculation code of radiation network and ring network about marine power system, and verifies the feasibility of algorithm program through the 4 nodes, 8 nodes radiation networks and 33 nodes weak ring network. Secondly, this article builts a mathematical model for transient analysis of marine power system according to the system's specificity, and discusses the model's creation and predigestion of excitation control system and control system in the marine power system, then gives transient analysis'prcess and its Matlab program of marine power system using the improved Euler method and iterative method, and verifies the feasibility of algorithm program through a simplified marine power system with 4 nodes. Finally, this article completes a software design based on VisualBasic 6,Access2003 and Matlab 7.0 refer to the relevant basic theory about marine power system design, and adds the off-line power flow calculation and transient analysis module to verify the reliability and stability of the designed marine power system.This article makes basic discussion and research on the power flow calculation and transient analysis of marine power system, and by applying to the design process can effectively shorten the design cycle and optimize system performance. This approach has some practical value, and lays a good foundation about further research and development in the future.
