Maintainability is a significant quality characteristic of canon equipment. It is both the need from customers and the need for improving the quality of the canon to take maintainability into consideration in the development process of canon and implement it through design and demonstration. Maintainability demonstration is the experimentation and evaluation carried out by authorized department with the intention to check whether the maintainability meets the requirement, while maintainability evaluation is the one conducted by customer and manufacture aiming at assessing the maintainability under practical operation, maintenance and logistical conditions. At present, most of the maintainability demonstration and evaluation of canon are based on methods from GJB, which uses information from tests. However, these methods are large sample methods and require huge expense and time and so harm the combat battle effectiveness. Therefore, maintainability demonstration methods based on small sample methods are of practical value.This thesis focuses on the maintainability demonstration and evaluation of XX-canon. As few maintenance data are available, we study the methods based on small sample theory and conduct the demonstration and evaluation for XX-canon using these methods. First, the basic structure and working principle of XX-canon are describe, which forms the basis of maintainability index analysis. Then, we introduce the basic procedures for acquisition of maintainability data. Methods for choosing and validation for the distribution of maintainability index are presented. Finally, based on Bayesian theory, we propose to use the Bayes sequential probability ratio test for the MTTR of the 130-canon, where the MTTR is also estimated.
