Smart grid based on modern power system is new power grid, which applies digital techniques, accomplishes the transportation, distribution, and management of electrical energy from power supply to consumer. So the Smart grid will be able to save energy and costs, reduce risk of malfunction and improve reliability largely. With the fast development of the domestic economy, the peak of load increase fast, and the value of valley-to-peak grow accordingly. Therefore scheduling of the power system operation is significant increasingly. Electricity demand side management including interruptible load and power generation of client can arrange the schedule effectively and enhance the facility utilization and power distribution reliability of the complicated grid, which will reduce the catastrophic impact of power system.The article researches the optimal management of interruptible load from the respect of grid schedule.Firstly, in the process of presenting the feature of smart grid, the article expounds the interactivity and schedule of smart grid. Combining advanced information technologies, control technology and power electronic technology, the smart grid implement schedule to meet the requirements of the users'diversity and to maximize the benefit of energy, environment, economic and social.Secondly, this article describes the content of electrical power demand side management, and then researches the smart grid how to perform the demand side management (DSM). The smart grid and DSM supplement each other, namely, distributed generation and interruptible load in the DSM materialize the interactivity of smart grid and the smart grid provide the technology for the DSM simultaneity.Thirdly, the article summarizes the application of particle swarm optimization in power system, and then uses it to solve the optimal power flow.At last, the article not only introduces the schedule of the smart grid but also discusses the demand side management. Based on the above, the article established an optimal scheduling model of interruptible load using binary particle swarm optimization. This paper investigates it to schedule a number of IL which operational characteristics are different over 16 hours. The scheduling objective is to achieve the requirement of hourly curtailments while satisfying the operational constraints of the interruptible loads, minimizing the payments and minimizing the frequency of interruptions.At the ending, the paper made a conclusion and prospected the next work.
