In critical driving situations in which emergency braking is required, the Antilock Braking System provides you with safe and effective support. ABS keeps your vehicle directionally stable and steerable, even in emergency braking situations. It is intended to establish the evaluation system to tune the performance of ABS which is in the vehicles based on analysising the national standards, and to study the key points of the system such as test methods, performance evaluation, sensors and so on. The primary work of the paper can be summarized as follows:1. Analysising the typical brake control cycle by finding out the structure and basics of ABS and Researching on the national standards.2. Setting up an ABS roadway test system and in-depth study on velocity sensor, wheel speed sensor, gyroscope, pipe pressure sensor, pedal force sensor, then programming with Lab VIEW.3. Discussing the limitation of the national standards, based on which proposing the evaluation indicators due to braking efficiency, slip ratio, vehicle position and stance and subjective evaluation, and then studying the test methods.4. Picking out the testing date of braking in the straight line, emergency braking on a bend which is under the high friction through the real vehicle roadway test system, and the analysis and comparison indicate the feasibility of the evaluation indicators and the test systems.
