Research Of Fault Diagnosis Expert System For General Aircraft Based On Fault-tree

It is a complicated job to analyse an aircraft either from the perspective of structure or the system, and it makes the maintenance work a hard one. In this case, it is significantely meaningful to establish a fault diagnosis expert system. Based on the fault-tree theory, the system can make the experts interact with the diagnosis system through man-machine interface, which can improve the efficiency of trouble shooting work and cut the time of maintanence.In this paper, a fault-tree diagnosis expert system for general aircraft is established by combining the rule-based fault diagnosis system with fault-tree analysis method. Firstly, the princples of fault-tree analysis and the fault-tree building method are analyzed, and then the structure of expert system is studied. In the mean time, based on the systematic analysis of the long-term fault data and its fault mechanism, typical faults of CESSNA 172 are analyized. Combined with the production of knowledge representation, system inference engine is formed by forward reasoning approach.Using the ACCESS 2007 database management system to be the development platform, the database of the based on fault-tree Diagnosis Expert System for general aircraft is built. A knowledge base management system is created by ADO database access technology. Denpending on the well intergrated development capabilities and its outstanding friendly visual interface, the diagnostic expert system with a friendly interface was programmed by Visual Basic. Finally, taking the Cessna 172R engine typical failure shake as an example, the system is proved to be versatile and have good prospection.
