With the development of high precision machinery, the request for the high quality bearings becomes more and more harsh. As the key components of machine, bearings are being payed more and more attention. The motion precision, operational life span, noise control and the environmental affect are all related firmly with the precision rank of the bearings. Among all the factors of the bearings quality, the diameter contributes straightly towards the function of bearings. Diameter will affect the performance of the bearings and consequently the performance of the whole machine. It's extremely crucial to keep all the bearing balls'diameter of the same bearing in the same precision grade. The main contents of this project are as follows:Firstly, analyzed the cause and the scale of the system error for the measurement components assembly. Obtained the error scale caused by the measurement stabilisation accompanied with the vibration. Through error compensation, the major of the error could be get rid of. Secondly, through repeated measurement experients, four ball positioning manners were compared and the high precise V-block was chosen to be the final ball positioning method. Thirdly, using the highly precise CCD laser displacement sensor and relevent-dynamic measurement manner, the diameter value between the master ball and the test ball could be obtained. Finally, with the use of the motion controller card and the second exploitation measurement-controlling software, the test balls can be divided into groups based on the measuring results.Measuring efficiency, change the measuring manner from the statical measurement to dynamic measurement, which can shorten the measuring and the grouping time. The measuring efficiency increases from 0.5 balls/min to 1 balls/min.Measuring accuracy, with the help of the high precise V-block and the high precise 2-degree displacement table, the stability is highly improved. Measuring accuracy increases from 2μm to 0.8μm.At the meantime, shear-type rubber shock absorber and the damp are added in the system, isolation system is designed and used. All these can do good to the stablity of the whole system. In addition, many mechanical parts are optional to different test ball diameter from 3.5mm to 25mm. Through repeated measuring experiments, the new system is much more precise and stable compared with the old one and the manual manner.
