After being on active service for some time, the mechanical equipments, space vehicles, airplanes and the buried conducts will suffer some damages easily, for instance, corrosions, cracks and losses, which play significant roles in the life of those equipments and the safety of people. Therefore, it is necessary to periodically examine and evaluate the key sections of those equipments, in order to find the damages in time and avoid the accidents. The development of modern industrial technologies rests more and more on the NDE efficiency and accuracy, so it is of great significance to conduct researches of the numerical-control damage detection motion control system.Based on the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the common motion control path planning, two path planning algorithms, which are closed-loop successive-layer fitting algorithm and profile modeling equidistance fitting algorithm, are introduced in this paper. The minimum deviation in interpolation calculation is applied in the contour fitting of the path planning algorithm, allows approximating curve with polygonal and applies contour equidistance algorithm to generate multilayer trochoid of closed-loop successive-layer fitting algorithm. In this paper the usable conditions of both algorithms are also analyzed and the suitable path planning algorithm is collected and applied in detecting different damage sections.This paper introduces the total structure design of the detection equipment, the design of the motion control, the debug of the motion control system and the establishment of the numerical-control damage detection motion control system. With the help of the numerical-control damage detection software, the pictures collected by CCD camera are processed and the scanning path planning is finished. The software also conducts the control worktable to move according to the path planning locus, enables the ultrasonic probes to collect the damage information and to acquire the 3-D appearance of the damage sections.This paper is based on Visual C++. The numerical-control damage detection motion control system software designed in this paper consists of five functional modules, which are respectively the fault diagnosis module, the path planning module, the parameter initialization module, the motion control module and the file manipulation module. The software achieves the functions of picture processing, parameter setting, scanning path contrail fitting, software spacing, manual adjustment of worktable position, automatic detection and storage of scanning data, and the like.This paper introduces the establishment of the numerical control damage detection motion control system based on the mechanical, electrical and computer technologies. This system could realize the ultrasonic scan of damage sections with high efficiency and accuracy and collect 3-D information to help measurably analyzing and evaluating those damages.
