A series experiments had done to research the phenomenon that there would be NO2 when produce NO by arc discharge. Experiments studied some factors such as current, discharging frequency and the discharge power, which would influence the temperature of air pulsed arc discharge plasma. The arc discharge plasma emission spectrum had been surveyed by using the spectrum measuring technique, some rules had been found about the air pulsed arc discharge plasma temperature changes along with discharging current, discharging frequency and power of discharge. Then the influence of plasma temperature to the concentration of NO and the NO2 had be research, too. The research discovered:1.Through experiment compared the power supplies energy stored the inductance and stored in capacitor: due to the inductance power supply plasma temperature could be controlled through adjusting discharging current and the discharging frequency; due to the capacitor power supply, plasma temperature could be controlled through control the voltage value of capacitance and the size of capacitor.2. Adjusting discharging current and the discharging, controlling the voltage value of capacitance and the size of capacitor can control the plasma temperature effectively, there was a good linear relationship between the control factors and the control result have; The plasma temperature increases when the above four conditions promoted.3.The emission spectrum in air arc discharge has analyzed, among the discharge spectral line, the intensity of spectral line O2+(336.231nm) was biggest and the intensity of spectral lines were proportional to the plasma temperature. Three characteristic spectral of Fe(379.50nm,423.88nm,428.24nm) were chose to calculate the plasma temperature, and the level of linear fitting is perfect(>0.99) when calculate the plasma temperature, which can prove the accuracy of experimental result from another aspect.4.Spectral line O(394.7nm) was used to makes the Lorentz curve fitting, electron densities of plasma under different arc discharge condition were commutated by Stark half-high width.5.The result indicated that the plasma temperature can influence the concentration of NO and NO2 greatly, so we can reduce the concentration of NO2 by controlling the arc plasma temperature.
