With the rapid development of automotive industry, the problems of safety, energy crisis and environment contamination have led to various concerns. To the extensive using product of coach, with the new researches of, this paper analyses the body frame of coach and does some researches of lightweight, then grasps the performance of body frame and brings up the idea of steel-aluminum hybrid structure coach body, which has meaning to the lightweight of coach body frame.This paper takes the body frame of BY6128 as research object, first in terms of structure attribute, arrangements and bearing capacity, analyses the body frame of coach. By simplifing geometric modeling, defineing the element type and material properties, forming the FEM model.Dfines the lodes and boundary conditions of each working condition, (bending, emergency braking, bending and torion, emergency turning) does the static analysis of the coach body frame, by means of checking the stress distribution and deformation, evaluates the stiffness and strength, then proposes some modification measures of part structure.On the basis of vibration theory, by means of the model analysis and harmonic response analysis, extracts the low-order natural frequencys and models, analyses the dynamical property, checks the displacement of three locations of body frame, grasps the dynamic responses.In terms of material properties, sphere of application and processing technic, does a comparative analysis of lightweight automotive materials, makes a study of sizing optiminzation, topological optimization and multi-material structure. In terms of lightweight materials and structural optimization, studies the lightweight methods of coach body frame, brings up the idea of steel-aluminum hybrid structure, designs the cross section shape of aluminium alloy, completes lightweight design.By means of analy under four typical conditions and the model analysis, compares stiffness and strength of the improved and original body frame, the confirmatory analysis indicate that the lightweight design has obtained a well effect.
