My company has a 10 m class road passenger car body frame weight of 3282 kg, Compared with the domestic similar models of heavy weight, there is no competitive advantage, is not conducive to energy saving and environmental protection. In this paper, combined with the 10 meters of road passenger car body lightweight research, the goal is to reduce weight by 7%.Firstly, the body structure parameters(strength and stiffness) of CAE analysis, the analysis found the whole body torsional stiffness of torsion stiffness lower than similar models in the three reference range; the maximum stress of body structure under typical working conditions are beyond the yield limit of bar material, high stress concentrated bar right around the rear column and door beam connections, side wall at the rear waist beam and side column connections, front suspension front floor through connections between beams and frame beam, the unreasonable structure needs to be improved; but the whole structure of the average stress value is low, so the body structure has a larger lightweight space. In order to improve the safety of the bus structure and realize the lightweight body, we studied the carrying scheme of the body frame structure of closed loop arrangement, chassis and floor frame of the corresponding improvement scheme, the model can meet the performance requirements and the body structure for the comprehensive study on lightweight. In order to realize the lightweight we mainly from the following four aspects: the main body frame by selecting the bar structure and section optimization, other body bar structure optimization, lightweight plate support parts and lightweight materials. The body force pole structure and cross section optimization 161.8kg body other framework bar structure optimization 53.16 kg optimization, plate bracket components weight reduction scheme 11 kg, lightweight materials with reduced 16.68 kg. To sum up, the 10 m level highway bus lightweight scheme improved to achieve weight loss is 242.64 kg in total, 7.39% weight reduction, to meet the target. Then, the improved structure is verified by finite element analysis, and the strength and stiffness of the whole vehicle meet the requirements of lightweight car body frame. At the same time, the maximum stress of each working condition is reduced to below the yield limit, and the layout of the body structure is more reasonable.Through this research, we develop 10 meters carrying lightweight bus body skeleton, fully meet the target requirements, to further promote the work of Large Commercial Highway passenger car; through structural optimization, the whole bearing skeleton can adopt small section tube moment, section size is not greater than 60x50x4; master the typical structural characteristics of bearing highway passenger car body lightweight framework, development methods and processes, can provide reference and experience for other lightweight car body frame design and development; clear all kinds of rectangular pipe use area, reduce the use of rectangular pipe specifications, forming design specification for rectangular tube bus.
