With the proliferation of the kinetic energy weapons and the upgrades of the international competition for air supremacy, more and more high-performance anti-aircraft missiles came into being. As the main model of the "Aegis" sea-based missile defense system, the carrier-based anti-ballistic STANDARD Missile-3 provides the U.S. Navy and allied forces overseas with whole theater ballistic missile defense capability. In order to adapt to the new situation and for reference purposes, the dissertation conducted modeling and attack-defense interaction simulation for the STANDARD Missile-3 BLOCK IA weapon system. This dissertation, with appropriate simplifications and assumptions, established mathematical models of the STANDARD Missile-3 weapon system. Because of vertical launching, a new conversion order for the missile launching model was adopted to avoid the singularity of the equations and uncertainty of the quaternion for the boundary. According to the information obtained from available relevant materials, applying the methods of engineering estimation, and guided by the thoughts of inverse design, propulsion parameters, aerodynamic configuration parameters and aerodynamic parameters of the STANDARD Missile-3 were calculated or reasonably given. The performance of the weapon control system, launching system and missile guidance and control system was researched. The procedure turn was applied in the launching section, and the commands control equations were designed; the midcourse guidance was researched on the base of zero-effort-intercept manifold; the kinetic energy warhead involved in the terminal guidance section were analyzed separately.Based on the above work, simulations for the STANDARD Missile-3 interception of ballistic missile targets in level flight and dive were carried out, including the interaction simulation for the penetration of goals, respectively, at different speed and height. Finally, the simulation results and the kill probability of the STANDARD Missile-3 were analyzed.
