The world automobile industry develops to light weighting. One of the effective approaches isthe useness of light weighting material, such as aluminium and its alloy, in automobile. At present, aluminium and its alloy are widely used in wheels. The motive of this paper is to reduce ulteriorlythe weight of wheel in virtue of advanced design method. At first, the paper introduces the elementary theory of finite element method and fatigueanalysis, and then introduces the chief functions and characteristics of the finite element softwareANSYS Workbench and the CAD software UG NX4.0 in detail. Furthermore, ANSYS Workbenchto carry out intension analysis and fatigue analysis are introduced as the processes using a focalpoint. In this paper, UG NX 4.0 is used to creat the model of wheel which is according withGB/T34871996.Then the model is submitted to ANSYS Workbench where it is dealed with andloaded according as the prescribe in the fatigue experiment of GB/T34871996 and is analyzed inintension,we can know the rotary fatigue life of Aalloy wheels before practical manufacture. This study shows CAE helps to improve design level of wheel,s horten design cycle and reducedesign cost. It is a prevalent analytical means and is fit to any wheel.
