Thermal crack is the main form of the crack of mass concrete. To control the thermal crack, the simulation analysis on hydration heat of mass concrete and crack control during construction process become an important research subject. Based on the finite element method, this paper does a deep research on thermal field and stress of mass concrete during construction process.1. Introduce the rationale of hydration heat of mass concrete and crack control during construction process and presents the finite element method of thermal field and stress. The thermal field of mass concrete during construction process belong the unstable thermal field of solid conductivity. It can be simulated with transient thermal analysis in ANSYS thermal analysis module.2. Based on APDL of ANSYS, this paper simulates the construction process of mass concrete by writing program. The simulating model is 50 m×40 m×10 m concrete. After simulate analysis, finding some laws of mass concrete during construction process. In terms of thermal field, there is a highest temperature in the center of mass concrete, reducing round the mass concrete. The highest temperature gradient between inner and outer concrete is 18℃, cannot reach the theoretical value to generate thermal crack, which is 25℃. So it does not have the risk of thermal crack. In terms of thermal stress, the mass concrete gradually form a large temperature gradient because of the deepening hydration heat degree as well as formation of convection. At the same time, because of the round restrain of mass concrete, the inner concrete form the obvious stress field and the stress of four corners is bigger than the round concrete.3. For the simulation results, this paper has a deep research in mass concrete control methods.
