In the power system, the distribution network losses account for alarge proportion of energy loss. Therefore, to carryout comprehensive research and analysis of transformer losses is animportant part for economic operation of power systems. The high level ofnetwork loss is due to irrational operation of transformers and unsuitablerunning mode. In this paper, Qingpu grid is taken for study, thefollowing studies has been done: reducing light load transformers inthe network; load balanced in power station; evaluation the load point loss;technical analysis for distribution transformers economic selection;distribution network reconfiguration optimization.Through above research of total loss of transformer and optimaloperation interval, the following strategies against loss of Qingpu grid can bedrawn down:(1) According to the load point of the actual load situation, the transformerlosses can be saved by replacing transformers or load division;(2) For load points of more than two parallel transformers, in the caseof low load factor, reduce no-load and light load of the transformer, reducing the total load loss and running loss;(3) For load points of more than two parallel transformers, in the case of non-light load, the transformer can reduce the total loss by load balance;(4) With regard to the developed area,a renewal of transformer project bymaking up optimize model of transformer losses and putting forward areasonable investment program can reduce the total loss of distributionnetwork.(5) The network structure can be optimized by distribution networkreconfiguration, which can succeed in reducing the total network loss.
