With the rapid development of China’s economy, the distribution network grows rapidly and the quality of people’s lives improve continuously, which also puts forward higher requirements for safe and reliable operation of the distribution network. To meet the rapid development and intelligent demand of distribution networks and improve the distribution network operation and management level, distribution automation system is the inevitable choice. As an advanced distribution automation application module, distribution network reconfiguration can change the current distribution to improve the distribution network economy and reliability by changing the switch state combination. The contact switch and segment switch has increased rapidly with the development of the distribution network providing a good foundation for distribution network reconfiguration. However, many distribution network reconfiguration methods can not meet the requirements of reconfiguration speed due to the pursuit of global optimal or repeatedly power flow calculation so that it cannot achieve the purpose of the online application. Through in-depth study of the branch exchange method and for achieving rapid distribution network reconfiguration online application, this paper puts forward a fast distribution network reconstruction method based on dual feeders which can achieve the purposes of load balancing and reducing active power losses. In process of distribution network reconstruction, optimal transfer load estimation formula is used to estimate the optimal transfer load and then to determine the best segment switch and find out the best combined state of switches within the dual feeders. The whole network reconstruction are based on the reconstruction of dual feeders. All dual feeders are ranked from large to small by certain orders according to different reconstruction targets. In the progress of whole network reconfiguration, "optimization flags" should be marked on feeder pairs to avoid dead cycle and be a sign of ending the reconfiguration. Finally, combined with the network reconstruction module of computer programming distribution automation system,13 nodes and 185 nodes distribution network are used to verify the method proposed in the article and results are given before and after the reconstruction. By comparing the results, it shows the effectiveness of the method proposed in the article and can meet the reconfiguration requirement of online application.
