In this paper, through the analysis of elevator traction machine and its drive system composed of the permanent magnet synchronous motor, encoder position feedback system, brake system, and variable frequency drive system, their role and influence to the performance and operation of the elevator system quality will be obtained. Furthermore, combined with practical work experience and technical feedback on the corresponding components and subsystems, the methodology improvement and design recommendations are proposed. By use of PMSM physical and mathematical models, the stator flux and voltage equations and electromagnetic torque equation are established. Through the optical encoder analysis and detection of the rotor magnetic field by the inductor, the methods analysis is given in both running and stationary PMSM rotor position detection. By the analysis of second position sensor, running curve theory and calculation method, the elevator leveling run and performance improve method are given. Based on the brake analysis, the brake delay, the synchronizing, brake temperature and other causes of the problem and the corresponding solution methods are given. Use of coordinate transformation, vector conversion and speed control system of the basic structure analysis, elevator traction machine based on the rotor oriented vector control system, and compared the flux-weakening control, constant voltage control in a variety of control methods. In the control circuit and power-driven parts of the corresponding functions, the typical configuration based on the analysis, the establishment of a PMSM vector control system hardware architecture system. The paper also analyzes energy consumption indicators and the impact of the PWM pulse for the motor insulation issues based on the current trend of elevator system design.
