With the development of economic globalization and the market competition is becoming increasingly fierce, manufacturing enterprises are facing increasingly tough challenges:the product manufacturing cycle becomes shorter and shorter and customer demand for products changes from the universal products into individual products. To meet this challenge, mass customization production came into being. So far, domestic and foreign researchers have made some progress on the study of mass customization, but most researches concentrated in the aspects of concept and product design of mass customization, however researches of production planning and scheduling for mass customization was still rare. Consequently, this paper focuses on production planning and scheduling for mass customization. The main work includes the following aspects:Firstly, the requirements of the mass customization mode for the production management system of enterprise were discussed. On the basis of comparison for the three used typical methods of production planning and scheduling, and analysis and summarizing the merit and demerit of each method, the general framework model of production planning and scheduling was established in mass customization.Secondly, on the basis of redefining the concept of production process decoupling points, multi-objective production process decoupling point location model for mass customization manufacturing enterprises was established. The location model is aim for the manufacturer's cost and date of delivery, and to meet personalized customer demand as constraints. Combination with actual production data, parameters of the model were fitted, acquired expansion form of the positioning model. Finally, this model was tested and verified by an example.Finally, production scheduling problem was described based on the decoupling point location. According to the different position of the optimal solution of production process decoupling point in manufacturing enterprise, production scheduling model was established in the two types of MTO and ATO production modes, a hybrid genetic algorithm model was designed by the combination with genetic algorithm and heuristic algorithm.
