ITS(Intelligent transportation systems) is one of effecitve way of solving the growing crowded problem in city.Excellent ITS can effectively relieve the traffic jam in city,make the best use of the existing city's road.The hisstroy of ITS the development status at the moment,and the trend in the future are reveived in the paper. The composition of the ITS the principle of ITS are analyzed in the paper.Analyzing the fuzzy control theroy. Main content in this paper is designing a single point of signal control machine and a fuzzy controller.The designs based on linux and ARM are proposed.Work in the paper are:①Haedware and software platform are established based on embedded linux and low-power high-performance high reliablity S3C2440 of microprocessor ARM9.②The famousest bootloader(U-boot) is analyzed,and transplanted to the target board mini2440.③The embedded linux is analyzed,and customed bulited transplanted to the target board mini2440.④The GPIO on mini2440 is analyzed. Welding the external LEDs which is ueded to simulation the traffic lights in intersection.The driver of LED is prepared in the paper.⑤Based on the works above all, on the hardware and sofeware platform,a fuzzy controller is designed.Programs in the signal control machine are made.The test show that the signal control machine based on ARM-LINUX can effictively relieve the traffic jam in the crossroads,increase the speed the car crossing the crossroads and the road usage.At the same time,because of the reserved interface the upgrade of the toute control or area control is possibility in the future.It is favorable practical and economic.
