By the side of Xingjiang River and down to the foot of Yuelu Mountain, Hunan University locates in Changsha, one of the first batch of famous historic and cultural cities in China, and it origins from one of Chinese Four Well-known Academies, Yuelu Academy, which ensures it a time-honored history. There are many historic Candidacy Listing Buildings in the campus which were mostly built in 1940s and 1950s or even earlier and plays a vital role in historic culture development of Changsha.Here in China, we need more exploration on protection and reuse of campus cultural resource as well as campus development due to the reason that we're falling behind of western countries from aspect of technology, laws and regulations and thinking in the field of preservation of Candidacy Listing Buildings.Based on preservation principles and by comparison and analysis of references and theories, this paper summarizes theoretical outcomes both at home and abroad, analyzes the example of preservation of modern preserved structure in Hunan University, points out the improper methods and possible actions in the confirmation preservation, and thus raise some suggestions. By doing that, it will have a positive impact on embodiment of preservation principle during its practice and help theory convert to operation. Meanwhile, this paper aims at guiding the practice of preservation of Candidacy Listing Buildings, promoting enhancement of restoration techniques as a whole, as well as pushing preservation of Candidacy Listing Buildings forward.
