With oil resources are depleted and the soaring international oil prices, the proportion of fuel costs is increasing in the shipping costs. Ships generally use heavy oil which has complex compositions, producing more hazardous substances. Environmental pollution generated by shipping emissions has reached the point that can not be ignored. Countries pay more and more attention to energy conservation and emission reduction, building ships to meet the requirements of "green" ship is imminent. Sail-assisted ships relying on wind as auxiliary energy can effectively reduce ship fuel consumption and exhaust emissions, which are becoming a bright spot of new energy ship research. At present lots of countries research results confirmed that sail-assisted ship is an effective method. In order to explore the feasibility and economic benefits of sail-assisted fishing vessels, this paper choose a squid fishing vessel as research object, and study the technology installation sail on the fishing vessel. There are many types of sails on modern sail-assisted ships, according to the characteristics of squid fishing vessels; we choose NACA and arc-shaped sail as research sail model. Installing sails on the squid fishing vessel, the deck machinery must be re-arranged. This paper reasonably arranges sails to the squid fishing vessel, combining the special requirements of sail-assisted ships decoration. After selection the location of sail, calculations sail aerodynamics, we study the thrusting effect acquired by installation of sails. In this paper, by using FLUENT software rational modeling and solver settings, calculate a number of sails aerodynamic performances with difficult shapes and camber then choose the most suitable NACA0006 sail and camber ratio of 0.14 arc-shaped sail. Analyze these two kinds of sails, and mutual interference between two sails.Installation sails on the squid fishing vessel have a significant impact of the ship's performance. First, when sails aid to navigation, with larger area by wind, higher wind pressure center, the squid fishing vessel suffered lateral force will produce yaw angle and angle of heel; Second, sail-assisted ship wind tilt torque wind is greater, the stability of the ship become poor. If the installation of sail area is too great, it will not be able to meet the requirements, if sail area is too small, it can not get the best boost efficiency; third, sail will have an impact on the ship's maneuverability. Based on the analysis of sail-assisted squid fishing vessel, we can see that as long as reasonable choose the sail area and the operation of sailing, the ship's stability performance can meet the requirements and the ship's maneuverability is also beneficial. After determining the sail-assisted ship can meet the requirements of stability, we calculate the economic benefits of sails. Analysis the resistance of sail-assisted ship and compare the character of navigation models, and ultimately chose the constant speed navigation mode. For constant speed navigation mode calculate the economic benefits and estimate the squid fishing vessel reduce the percentage of engine power and save the number of tons oil per year. Through saving the weight of fuel, we calculate the number of reduced CO2 emissions when the sail-assisted squid fishing vessel. Analysis the propeller and the engine work characteristics.
