Shanxi Wanjiazhai YRDP(Yellow River Diversion Project) is a large trans-basin diversion to solving the serious problem of water shortage. After the first-stage project completed, the Yellow River has accounted for 65% of average daily water consumption in Taiyuan. YRDP is the largest water conservancy project in Shanxi province ever before, and its total line including total route and south route is 146km.Along the way, the water should go through not only tunnels, aqueducts, pipes, but also natural drains of Fen River. Finally, the water flows into the Fen River Reservoir. Then the water is transported to Taiyuan by the ducts. The area where the yellow river flowing through is wide, its water quality is complicated. In addition to monitoring the routine indexes of water quality, it is necessary to study the changes of organics in the yellow river water. Environment endocrine disruptors (EDCs) are the mass in environment which can disturb the human or animal's endocrine system and cause abnormal effects. Its content in environment is few, but its effect could not be ignored. Therefore, studying the changes and degradation of EDCs in the yellow river is necessary. In this paper, on the basis of the investigation of the pollution along the YRDP, we selected eight representative points as sampling points. The changes of TOC and UV254 had been determined. At the same time, the contents of organics in water had determined by the method of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). On the analysis of the rule of organic changes between eight water samples, we focus on the testing and analysis of EDCs in the yellow river water. Finally, we study the removal of EDCs from drinking water by activated carbon, using the method of static and dynamic absorption. The results showed that there were certain pollution points along the YRDP, and these pollution points caused some effect on the quality of water in Fen River. The changes of TOC and UV254 were similar to the changes of organics in water. The quality of yellow river water had some connection with the season. The GC-MS datum showed that there were amount of organic matters in eight sample points, and the varieties and contents of organics show certain laws. With the distance of yellow river flowing and the tributaries of Fen River increasing, the types and contents of organics in water obviously increasing. After the purification of the Fen River Reservoir, the water quality was becoming good on the outlet of the Reservoir. The results indicated that the traditional treatment of Huyan plant has certain effect on the removal of organics from water. The backwash in Huyan plant has certain enrichment effect on organic matters. The results showed that there were two kinds of EDCs in all the water samples, dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and bisphenol A (BPA). The changes of DBP and BPA were similar to the changes of organics. The content of DBP and BPA in the water of Huyan plant meet the criterion of GB 5749-2006. The traditional treatment of Huyan plant has better effect on the removal of DBP than BPA.In order to eliminating the excess emission of EDCs in water caused by the reason or accidents, the water solution of DBP and BPA made-up in the laboratory were processed by activated carbon, using the method of static and dynamic absorption. The static results indicated that activated carbon could absorb DBP and BPA effectively in water. In the initial concentration of DBP and BPA were lOmg/L, the result could be obtained that the adsorption equilibrium time of DBP was about 7hours, the saturated adsorptive capacity of DBP was 35.78 mg/g. it is also obtained by static test that the adsorption equilibrium time of BPA was about 6hours, the saturated adsorptive capacity of DBP was 42.05mg/g.The dynamic adsorption results indicated that different velocities had a great influence on the adsorption of activated carbon. When the velocity was 6BV, the effect of adsorption caused by activated carbon was better, for both DBP and BPA. In the initial concentration of DBP and BPA were 10mg/L, the penetrated and saturated adsorptive capacity was largest, the dynamic saturated adsorption of DBP was 93.46mg/L the dynamic saturated adsorption of BPA was 98.79mg/L. The function of activated carbon was good and had good economic value.
