Airport Channel Passenger Transport Mode Selection Mechanism And Modeling

As the economic of the society growing quickly, the air transportation is becoming more and more important in the transportation modes, and the last twenty years is the fastest growing period of the demand of the air transportation to China and even the whole word. At present the consumption price of the air transportation is becoming lower and lower year by year, the consumption level is turning from high level to public level and the object served is turning from the nobility to the public. As rapid growth of air transportation demand, a lot of airports in many cities of our country are facing a lot of expansion and relocation construction. The airport follow-up transportation and the construction of the airport channel have great meaning in the planning and construction of the new airport. Considering the research to the mode choice of the airport channel is helpful to the airport follow-up transportation and the construction of the airport channel. The paper took the airport in Kunming for example and made a deep study on the mode choice of airport travelers.Firtly the paper introduced the the theory base that woule be used in this research. Secondly the paper made a simple analysis to the transportation mode choice of the airport channel. Thirdly the paper used the exploratory focor-analysis to analyze the main variables which impacted the mode choice of the departing air travelers before model being built. Finally the paper built two models. One model was based on the whole variables and another was based on the common-factors variables. By comparing the two models, we can find that using exploratory foctor-analysis bdfore model being built can reduce the number of the factors. As a result, it can reduce the workload of estimating the parameters of the model. But you can't eliminate any variables. This method is also good to extracting the variables which play significant role of modeling. And also the common-factors variables that exploratory factor analysis of generated can replace the original variables to modeling. Comparing with the model that variables are choosen directly, the model that using exploratory factor-analysis has higher precision and hit rate. The latter is more accurate, more objective. At last based on the model of common-factors variables, the paper analyzed the transportation mode choice of the airport channel.
