The high speed, highly efficiency and brute force will be the aim of the marine gearbox. With the high power and speed of the gears, vibration and noise of the marine gearboxes have become the outstanding problem. Therefore, it has become the inevitable trend of gear design that making dynamic analysis and dynamic design on the gear system in order to obtain optimal parameters, the optimum properties gear transmission.In this paper, a marine high-power gearbox is studied. Through constructing the FEM model, the dynamic response is analyzed by the software of ANSYS and MAST A, and the vibration and noise of the gearbox is forecasted, and the optimization scheme to reduce vibration and noise of the gearbox is given. Concrete research work is as follows:(1) The model of transmission system is established by the software of MASTA, the model of gearbox has been created by Pro/E software, and the system model of marine gearbox is constructed by MASTA and ANSYS.(2) The dynamic motivation for the gear system is investigated, the three kinds of internal incentive of gear tooth stiffness, gear tooth error and meshing shock are simulated by finite element method, the dynamic force on bearings are obtained after alternating the internal incentive. The dynamic force can be used as the dynamic boundary conditions of the gearbox.(3) The mode of the box and system are analyzed in ANSYS, and then the mode of vibration and nature frequency are attained.(4) The harmonic response analysis of marine gearbox is analyzed in ANSYS, and then the displacement, speed, and acceleration of the key points on the gearbox are attained, and the structure noise of the gearbox is calculated according to the normal vibration acceleration.(5) Several designs for reducing the vibration and noise are putted forward according to the results of the dynamic response and noise analysis, and find the optimization scheme for the marine gearbox.
