Investigation And Research On The Plant Design Of The Recreation Spaces Of Residential Areas In Nanjing

As the development of society and economy, the enhancement of living standard, urban citizens demand higher spiritual civilization. It has to pay more attention to ecological environment and recreation space from the point of urban development. The recreation space of residential area is an important part composing urban green space system, which can protect the balance of ecological, improve urban residential environment and shape urban landscape, make the city more beautiful. Residential recreation space, as an important space for recreational activities and neighborhood contacts, close to residents' everyday life. It is also a crucial part of urban infrastructures. In recent years, with the the rapid development of real estate business in Nanjing, the plant landscape of residential area is laid emphasis on gradually. Appealling to the high greening rate and the high greenland rate, people's request on the plant design of residential areas is more and more. Therefore, it is valuable to study the existed plant landscape of recreation space of residential areas in Nanjing, analyze its advantage and disadvantage, for improving the whole exaltation layer of residential areas in Nanjing.On the base trend of the theory, application and development on the the plant landscape of recreation space in residential region both in China and abroad, and a great deal of field investigation, data collection, this paper studies objective evaluation of the recreation space of residential areas in Nanjing. This study selected 30 plots in the city center, the main city, and suburbs of Nanjing, covering the various grades of housing price from 5,000 Yuan/m2 to 24,000 Yuan/m2. Firstly it concludes the configurable modes of plant landscape in residential recreation space, analyzes its present condition in residents' behavior psychology, and with the theories of Ecology, Aesthetic, Landscape, Environment, Botany and so on, assessment for the plant landscape of Nanjing residential recreation space has be done. Then it applies vegetation ecology methods such as community species composition, structue and other community quantitative features etc, and comparative analyzes plant community of the residential recreation space from city center, the main city, suburbs of 3 different regions and the plant community of the recreation space of residential areas in different grades. The results show that: 1. According to my last survey, there are 112 species 78 genera 47 families of woody plants in the residential recreation space, including 57.14% of Shrubs and 42.86% of Arbors. Nanjing city has 43 species indigenous plants which make up 20.19% of the Arbor & Shrub indigenous plant species in Jiangsu.2. In the artificial plant community structures of the residential spaces, the proportions of evergreen and deciduous plants are similar. However at some respective statics, the evergreen plants' proportion of the arbor layor is higher than deciduous plants', while what of the shrub layor is the opposite. This kind of arrangement fits the climate features in Nanjing. But on the other hand, the being of conifer plants is seldom.3. The plant arrangement focuses on Aspect-change, mostly taking the triple-layers setting of "Arbor&Shrub&Herb" to make the most of the plant communities'landscape building function for enriching spatial levels of the recreation space.4. It is not the very same about the plant community structures in different regions. The central district is lacking in residential recreation spaces with few plants species and poor community diversity; while those of main urban region rifely have high green coverage, various community spatial levels and ingenious plant scenery; and those recreation spaces located in suburb have great area, bias broad-design with lower degrees of closing.There is direct proportion between the house price and the excellent degree of the plant scenery about the different residential spaces in the same region.5. The plant landscapes of residential recreation spaces in Nanjing are lacking in indigenous characteristic, and the woody plants'category amount is less than that in voluntary standard of the ecotype residential quarters promulgated by Ministry of Construction; beyond that very few species are applied abroad. The city landscape constructions just follow the market trend while do not take measures adapt to local condition for embodying the local feature & the residential quarters'advantage; some humanistic-shorting & detail-lacking design puts the citizens'daily activities to inconvenience.Finally, based on the through investigation and analysis, the situation and character of the residential recreation space in Nanjing were summed up. The paper brought up some suggestions of development, trying to found the ecological, resource-saving, variety and humanized landscape.
