Heat exchanger as an important heat transfer equipment,it is widely used in waste heat recovery of flue gas in industry ,such as metallurgy,building material,chemical industry,heating ventilating,energy power and so on.So research and development of heat exchanger has being highly valued for improving the heat transfer performance . Although heat exchanger has a more mature design methods and design standards, owing to the design process is complex and applied formulae are numerous, there are many new designs in the same conditions.Therefore CAD design system of gas-gas and gas-water combined heat exchanger is development using VB language and the functions of AutoCAD drawing in this paper.The article analysis on heat transfer mechanism and structural characteristics of Air-Gas heat exchanger and gas-liquid heat exchanger. The system is divided into technological design calculation subsystem, price estimation subsystem, parametric drawing subsystem and data management subsystem ,by using of process design thinking of structured and modular software development.The technological design calculation subsystem of Air-Gas and gas-liquid combined heat exchanger could achieve calculation of thermodynamic and resistance,by using of tube wall temperature check method to determine the structure of heat exchanger, complete the heat exchanger design calculation and check calculations.And using reverse engineering method to calculate thermal parameters of the single-row tube bundle of heat exchanger, provide heat exchanger performance comparison parameters for improving the design performance of heat exchanger. Based on the process design subsystem and the number of engineering materials data management subsystem table, the arrangement of heat exchanger tube bundle and the bundle structure are calculated and determined. A price estimation subsystem of Air-Gas and gas-liquid heat exchanger was developed, in which achieves project cost estimation of heat exchanger .Using VB6.0 and AutoCAD2007 as software development platform and taking modular design methods and program driving parameterized drawing principle, parametric drawing subsystem of Air-Gas and gas-liquid combined heat exchanger was developed and carryed out parts drawing and assembly drawing automatically. Finally, the article combined with Air-Gas and gas-liquid combined heat exchanger design as an example, describe features of software and using process.With friendly interface, simple, applicability, the development of the system on Air-Gas heat exchanger and gas-liquid heat exchanger research and product development has important reference value, which can improve product design quality, shorten the design cycle and save production costs.
