The total distance of highway in China has mounted rapidly since 1980s. Since last three decades of bridge construction in China, both new construction and reinforcement have gained quite attention nowadays.The total carrying capacity of highway largely depends on the carrying capacity of bridge construction. Therefore, reinforcement and rebuild of weak bridge are highly vital.In recent years, more attention has paid to the study of b-ridge reinforcement in two respects, such as reinforcement me-thod and its material. This thesis would elaborately describe some common bridge reinforcement methods based on several fac-tors as reinforcement effect, carrying capacity calculation o-f reinforcement parts and its construction notices.To choose a bridge reinforcement program would be affected by several factors. They are correlative and inter-constrained and some of them could only be qualitatively judged that they have comparatively vagueness. According to the application of fuzzy mathematics in engineering structure, this thesis promotes a five-step bridge reinforcement optimization including bridge inspection, damage summery, analytic hierarchy process (AHP), fuzzy judgement and simulaition calculation. Specificly speaking, it should firstly build a fuzzy general judging mode based on bridge damage and its effect. Secondly, confirm the weight and judging matrix of every factor via three-time AHP on bridge damages. Moreover, a fuzzy judgement could be made from an objective overall review on given bridge reinforcement programs. Finally, it would verify its reinforcement effect through finite element simulation analysis on program optimization.The viability and utility of this bridge reinforcement program optimization has been preliminarily proved through a practical engeering project of Fulong Bridge reinfrocement optimization. It's meaningful for building a whole set of optimization system of bridge reinforcement program aiming at specific bridge type and its damage.
