As proposed and development of smart grid, the overall size of China's power grid has reached a new stage, and more and more new devices will be put into the grid, to some extent, increased the difficulty of the power grid control, but also for the grid maintenance planning raised new challenges. Power grid maintenance plan is not only directly related to the power dispatch department and the interests of all electricity customers, but also for security and stability of the whole network has a great influence, so the development of safe and reliable maintenance plan is of great significance.However, due to the uneven distribution and different ways of power structure and lines of different voltage levels like 500kV or 220kV are intertwined, making the whole grid structure much complicated and bringing great difficulties to the maintenance plan development. Traditional maintenance scheduling is more dependent on human experience or a simple calculation procedure for such a complex power grid structure, lack of effective means to visual display a large number of complex data and calculation results, and can't provide decision support tools for the dispatchers to determine the reasonableness of the maintenance scheduling.In this paper, the current status of power grid maintenance planning and the practical problems encountered in the process are analyzed, and the architecture design and implementations for power grid equipment maintenance decision support system are given. The system uses the Web model based on RIA technology, designs a set of standardized maintenance plans and reports and the release process, and proposes a combination of Flash, Ajax and other technologies for efficient smart grid topology mapping and visualization solutions, dynamic identifies equipment maintenance status and maintenance work content. Meanwhile, the system takes the advantage of the search algorithm to test the rationality of maintenance plans, through the establishment of mathematical models and constraints set, using the successive approximation algorithm to provide the recommended maintenance strategy. Finally, the system displays the maintenance plans with graphic and provides decision support for the dispatchers.The results have been applied to the development of Yunnan Power Grid transmission equipment maintenance decision support system. In the actual system operation achieved good and stable operating results, to ensure the maintenance of scientific planning, rigor, and the implementation of security.
