Along with the development of rural power industry, rural power network had been greatly improved, key works of county power supply companies had been changed into promoting the quality of power supply. Upgrading rural power network and improving the management level of reactive power is important to promote the quality of power supply and reduce the line loss.Methods of reactive power optimization of distribution network in Qingshanhu district of Nanchang Jiangxi province, are simple; therefore voltage of some of the distribution lines is below standard during peak load period or above standard during valley load period. This paper first analyses several problems of reactive power management of distribution network in Qingshanhu district, then introduces solutions such as reforming the substation shunt capacitor, installing automatic reactive power compensation in distribution lines, and finally achieve the optimal result of compensation.
