The vehicle suspension system is a connecting device, which transmit various force and moment between body and tire. The vehicle suspension system mainly consists of spring components, damper components and guiding links. The three parts respectively perform the functions of cushion, damping and orientating, and cooperate with each other to finish the task of transferring all kinds of forces and torques from tires to vehicle body. So, the transferring characteristic of the suspension system is the most important and direct factors that influence the vehicle ride performance and handling performance.Recently, multi-link suspension is applied more and more widely in the high-class and middle-class cars. Through various link distribution and design of angle of constraints that connecting the moving points, multi-link suspension will take the initiative to adjust the wheel alignment itself when suspension contracts or protracts, besides it provides great design freedom. Therefore, the multi-link suspension can access to the greatest degree of vehicle handing performance, and better ride performance.According to a car's suspension system structure and related data, the multi-link suspension system and steering system's simulation models are built by utilizing ADAMS/CAR software. For comparative analysis, a Macpherson front suspension system is also built. Then some factors and parameters and those parameters'change trends and scope hat have impact on vehicle handing stability are primarily introduced. By using ADAMS/CAR software, the left and right wheel parallel jump suspension kinematics simulation test on multi-link front suspensions and Macpherson strut front suspension is completed. At the same time, the simulation about suspension elasticity kinematics which composite of three applied load, longitudinal force, lateral force and aligning torque is finished successfully. To evaluate the two vehicle suspension kinematics and elasticity kinematics characteristics, all kinds of curves are plotted with ADAMS/CAR postprocessor platform, meanwhile their characteristics is analyzed and compared. At last the multi-link independent suspension's outstanding merits are summarized.Finally, on the purpose of reducing tire wear .The structure of the multi-link suspension has been optimized. After optimization, the tire's ability of anti-wear is significantly strengthened.
