The flow meter of throttle is still the most common flow instrument used to measure gas, liquid and high temperature steam in current industrial production. "V" type flow meter with an inner cone will replace the flow meters like orifice, nozzle, venturi etc., which are widely used in present China. V-cone flow sensor has been used in the industrial practice. However, because it has not been realized the standardizing production, the technical parameters of it still need being improved. The paper is established a three-dimensional model, using by PRO/E software. The model is introduced into Gambit. By applying Computational Fluid Dynamics commercial software FLENT, a large number of three-dimensional stimulation is done about the V-type flow meter, changing the effective ratio of diameterβ, the diameter of pipe D, front-cone angle a, back-cone angleθ. Outflow coefficient C is figured out and the empirical formula of outflow coefficient is educed according to MATLAB.At last, a three-dimensional stimulation is done about according to the outflow coefficient above, gas expansion coefficientεis figured out.
