Against the backdrop of accelerated urbanization and worsening congestion, public transport is the indispensable urban traffic mode. The science of public transport planning is an important means to reduce the problem of urban traffic, bus travel demand model study on bus plan is an important tool, this topic relies on the BRT planning of Jinan and transit network optimization, has carried out research on this subject.Research through the public transport survey data collation, analysis and summary and summarized travel law, needed to be modeling parameters, together with the establishment of fundamental geographic information system, utilizing Emme3 transportation planning software, the establishment of bus travel demand model. According to the results and findings distribution fitting, verification, continuous adjustment parameters are ultimately more accurate models and actual projects.Results of this research in Jinan City bus travel demand model, this model is the first bus in Jinan travel demand models, using traffic planning software as a platform to establish and use this model for a BRT network planning in Jinan City and a regular wire mesh optimization work, a certain generalization of meaning.Using public transport model, supports evaluation of transit systems, problem diagnosis and publ ic transportation planning program, provide the basis for network optimization and adjustment programmes. As public traffic system theoretical basis and fundamental component of programme design and development, is intended for traffic planning, design, analysis and evaluation of key links. Therefore, for theoretical research and application of bus model has important practical significance.
