The coordinated development of the rail transit system and the bus transit system is an important part of China's transit metropolis construction.Since some cities started the construction of a transit metropolis, rail transit has gradually operated in a network. However, due to less attention to its connection with conventional buses, the ground bus passenger flow has shown a normal downward trend in recent years and the decline has been obvious.Under this background, this thesis carries out a study on the evaluation and optimization of the connection between Zhengzhou's rail transit and conventional buses, with a view to providing a reference for bus operation and management. The main research work is as follows:The concept and connotation of the transit metropolis under the background of China's strength in transportation is discussed.Combined with the creation of transit metropolises in Shanghai,Guangzhou,Zhengzhou and other cities, the development framework of China's transit metropolis system is summarized. The transit metropolis assessment indicators are classified from planning and implementation, operation and management dimensions. The development of public transportation in Guangzhou and Zhengzhou is compared and analyzed from aspects of economy, population, urban transportation, and transit metropolis assessment indicators.Guangzhou has basically formed a multimodal and three-dimensional bus community.Zhengzhou has seen rapid development of bus infrastructure in recent years, and the level of bus supply and service has also been significantly improved.Indicators such as the ratio of bus lanes and the number of bay-type stops are higher than those of Guangzhou. The SWOT analysis method is used to study the development environment of Zhengzhou's public transportation, and conclusions are found that: it has a good development trend in terms of continuous net inflow of population, construction of transportation hubs, dominant position of public transportation, and construction of rapid transit;meanwhile, under the influence of the continuous rapid growth of cars and electric bicycles and the large-scale construction of rail transit, the coordinated development of multi-modal transportation and strengthening the connection between rail transit and conventional buses are important aspects of public transport development in the post-transit metropolis era.A survey on the field connection between Zhengzhou City Rail Transit Line 2 and conventional buses was carried out.Statistical results of the questionnaire show that there is a clear gap between the actual transfer distance and waiting time and expectations of citizens.Furthermore,a three-level connection evaluation index system for facility connection, network connection and passenger flow connection has been constructed.Based on the principal component analysis method, the connection level between each station of the rail transit line 2 and the surrounding conventional buses is evaluated.Connection efficiencies of the stations outside the Third Ring Road such as Liulin station and South Fourth Ring Road station are poor.By analyzing specific problems of the connection between Rail Transit Line 2 and conventional buses, optimization strategies are proposed from the network and facility levels.
