During the design and simulation of digital products, CAD and FEA activities need to interact. So effective CAD/FEA integration can improve the product design process, reduce design costs and improve design efficiency. But simple CAD/FEA integration based on CAD date exchange used nowadays can't meet practical needs. In this thesis, we present a CAD/FEA integration technology. The contributions of this paper are as follows:(1) According to the requirements of simulation driven design on integrated platform, we presents a CAD/FEA integration framework centered on CAD system. The framework consists of three parts:1), supporting models, including integrate data management subsystem.2), core functional models, including rapid generation of FEM subsystem, FEM directly editing subsystem and FEA analysis subsystem.3), user interface.(2) Based on the requirements of CAD/FEA seamless integration, we propose a CAD/FEA integration data model. Based on the boundary date of geometry and FEM, the model expands topology information of the original mesh, adds the associations between geometry and mesh data and provides the representation of analysis properties to support CAD/FEA seamless integration.(3) We design and integrate several CAD/FEA integration operations to support the associations and interactions between CAD and FEM activities, like rapid FEM generation of modified model through mesh reuse, direct editing on FEM through CAD operations or driven by feature parameters, rapid mesh generation of different resolution through mesh reconstruction and FEA calculation with results visualization.(4) We develop a CAD/CAE integration platform CAFIP, which includes the system interface, functional subsystems and IO interfaces.The results show that the proposed CAD/FEA seamless integration platform and CAFIP can effectively support the associations between CAD and FEA process and allow designers editing FEM directly during simulation and make the CAD date confirm through transmitting the FEM modify to CAD model.
