Comfort, the running smoothness and safety are important standards of a moderncar's performance, the performance of the suspension system is the critical ensure ofvehicle features. Passive suspension is stable, simple, economic, but the damping effectcan not meet modern vehicle performance requirements. Active suspension is high costand technical complexity. Semi-active suspension structure is simple, high controllability,at the same time, it has a superior damping performance of active suspension equivalent,Active suspension has a great potential for development, and used widely by automotiveengineers.Based on CATIA, ADAMS software established a simulation model of semi-activesuspension, and based on performance evaluation criteria for suspension suspension'smodel to be simulated and analyzed. Based on compared with the theoretical results,improved suspension performance. Main work and results are as follows:(1) The structures, control and status of the research of the suspension are analysis,at the same time, looking at suspension's research trends and clarify the significance ofthis research.(2) With the basis of Vehicle ride comfort and performance comparison, analysis theacceleration as the indicators of the evaluation method, lastly, smooth evaluation functionof the comprehensive indicators are established(3) Application of CATIA, ADAMS were established various sub-models of frontand rear suspension, steering system, engine system and body. Through the establishmentor modification communicator will assemble the various subsystems into the vehiclemodel. Prepare for the simulation and analysis of the suspension system performance.(4) Wheel alignment parameters, the front suspension stiffness, front suspension rollperformance of the model are simulation analysis, on this basis, the parameteroptimization. Finally, the performances of suspension system in the vehicle are simulatedand analyzed. Modeling analysis of the above, the corresponding optimization, ADAMSsimulation software simulation tool as an intelligent used in vehicle suspension systemsimulation, Not only can improve the movement characteristics of vehicle suspension,but also can significantly shorten the development cycle, reduce costs. This designsimulation, without actually manufacturing suspension, it can be adapted to differentcharacteristics of the evaluation and analysis, provides a simple and economic methodfor the suspension performance research and development.
