As an important mechanism to transfer the forces and torques, automotive suspension system can reduce the impact and vibration attenuation, on the vehicle riding comfort, handling stability, comfort and service life, it has great influence. This paper, taking a car in the development of Macpherson suspension as the research object, in the development process, it was found that there is a certain gap between the K&C characteristic parameters and the design objectives, such as the sedan toe variation, kingpin caster Angle, king pin offset distance, influenced the vehicle performance, increased tire wear. In order to solve these problems effectively, in this paper, according to the change of location parameter, optimized the key structure point of suspension based on immune algorithm.According to the theory of immune algorithm, taking the hard points coordinate parameters of suspension system key structure point as design variables, the minimum suspension K&C characteristic parameters in the process of suspension beat variation was used as the optimization object, for multi-objective optimization. According to the principle of suspension and the theory of multi-body dynamics, Macpherson suspension model was established, simulated and analyzed the performance of suspension system, and its performance is optimized. Again according to the established vehicle model, dynamics Simulations of vehicle was performed, at the same time, analyzed the operation stability and riding comfort, the results showed that the optimized suspension system combined the operation stability and riding comfort. By comparing the optimization results, it was found that the optimization effect by using immune algorithm is better than using a traditional algorithm.Finally, the prototypes of the optimized carried out the K&C test verification, test results showed that the suspension’s K&C characteristic parameters variation met the design target range, consistent with the change trend of the simulation values at the same time, verified the feasibility of the simulation.The research results showed that by the immune algorithm to optimize the Macpherson suspension of vehicle assembly, the suspension K&C characteristic parameters and range has reached the design target, improved the performance of vehicle, reduced the tire wear, and at the same time improved the riding comfort. Therefore, using immune algorithm to optimize the suspension performance research has practical application value.
