Compared to the city power grid, the rural power grid is characterized with large geographic span, large number and dispersed spatial distribution of grid equipment. The daily rural grid management involves a heavy load of works on power facilities installing, maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting, which asks for higher standards on grid assets management, production management, operation management and analysis. Taking into account the limit of rural grid management level and other factors, it becomes particularly important for the rural area to build an easy-to-operate and WYSIWYG rural grid GIS platform to support its management.The Rural Grid Visualization System based on Google Earth originates from the analysis of rural grid management needs and traditional GIS applications. Centering on the system development, designs are made taking into account required technology, platform, System structure, functional analysis, and database and security management mechanism. The GPS data-gathering and positioning technology, .NET technology and database technology are combined to complete basic data maintenance and storage functions. KML and SKP technology is adopted in realizing visual display of the grid.The main features of the system include grid data management, visual display, searching and locating, and three-dimensional grid construction. The coordinates of power towers and equipment are collected by GPS devices, photos are also taken to reveal their real conditions. Grid maintenance staff, with permissions assigned by the system, import or input information into the system, including geographic locations, photos and records of the equipment under their control. End users can then view in Google Earth the visualization of power line construction, tower equipment, real-time data, power supply path, three-phase electricity. They can also quickly search and locate customers by simply typing in relevant names, IDs, telephone numbers, and other information.The Rural Grid Visualization System based on Google Earth combines with the visual management theory of Lean production, changing the traditional way of hand drawing and paper sheets collecting into the use of geographic information to display, therefore providing a fast, accurate visualization platform for users. The system is easy to operate, stable in performance, effective on improving efficiency and management level of rural power grid. |
