Intelligent Substation In Applied Research Of The Regional Power Grid

Building a strong smart grid has become a trend with the development of network in the future. Substation in power system plays a pivotal role. With the maturity of smart grid technology and the development of new public communication protocol, smart substation has been into practice in system of National Grid.This paper introduces the research background of smart substation, analysis the principle and function of electronic transformer, studies the smart substation structure and IEC 61850 protocol, and introduces the operating characteristics of smart substation system. It introduces the system structure and function of intelligent substation from the aspects of physics and information flow, and discusses some problems to pay attention in equipment selection and design the intelligent substation.By IEC61850 protocol, equipments can share the information between different types or brands in smart substation and the fast communication channel of smart substation can be constructed; intelligent electronic transformer changes the previous analog output mode. Its output digital signal will make the protection,measurement and other basic data more reliable, and it greatly enhances the capacity of Anti-interference. The use of intelligent switch can effectively enhance the performance of primary device, and investment and maintenance cost are effectively reduced.This paper introduces the intelligent research and practical operation conditions of an 110kV smart substation-Feicui substation, including design and selection of equipment. By the scene detection, smart substation technology can meet the system requirements and it is economic. There are still some technical problems to solve in order to realize the intelligent in total station. Scientific personnel will make efforts to research and develop intelligent technology for smart substation.
