Hydrogen is the most promising new energy in the 21st century, as it is efficient, clean and abundant. Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) is the device which exchange hydrogen into electric energy. PEMFC monitor & control system aim to observe and control the running state of Fuel Cell, ensure Fuel Cell working safely and efficiently. This paper design 100W air cooling PEMFC monitor & control platform based on virtual instrument software. This paper includes the following content:Firstly, lots of factors affect the output of PEMFC, such as Fuel Cell temperature, current load, hydrogen flow, hydrogen pressure, etc. This paper get optimal working temperature and opening time period of electromagnetic valve by lots of experiments. Then, get mathematical formula with polynomial fitting and 1D interpolation.Secondly, design nether system to collect data (Fuel Cell temperature, environment temperature, circuit current, voltage, etc.) and control actuator base on the core chip PIC18F2580. In this system, utilize temperature sensor TC72 to read fuel cell temperature. Send data to PIC chip through amplification and A/D circuit. Then, utilize cooling fan which adopts PWM control to adjust Fuel Cell temperature. The serial communication protocol and the communication program are described in detail at last.Thirdly, introduce traditional PID and fuzzy control algorithm and design method of the fuzzy controller. Simulate and compare the two control algorithm with LabVTEW PID & Fuzzy logic toolbox. Then, use Fuzzy-PID to control Fuel Cell temperature in PEMFC monitor & control system, the graph shows that the control results are satisfactoryFinally, Design friendly upper system based on LabVIEW. The upper system read, analyse, process and store the data which is collected from the nether system, control fuel cell working factors by advanced control algorithms, use graph to show them. In addition, demonstrate how PEMFC work with flash, display real-time working factors.The working results show that this system is steady and reliably, it observes PEMFC working condition, control Fuel Cell temperature timely, remove excess water and waste gas. The whole software interface is simple, friendly and easy to use.
